Along came Terre Adélie.

That I may weave my own little part of the web, it had never occurred to me until that day of april 2004 when it suddenly became obvious I wanted to start a site : as the few people who had seen my patamodelages generally seemed interested, why not timidly try to show them to a larger audience that would be neither my family nor my friends ?

But what on earth made me call that site "Terre Adélie" (Adélie Land), which is the name of the thin portion of the Antarctic continent that belongs to France ? Well... Probably the fact I've always been fascinated by the big cold, by the faraway lands swept up by all the winds. Also because Kerguelen, Marion-Dufresne, Roaring forties, are beautiful words to my hears. And because the idea of the climatic archives hidden in the ice of Antarctica makes me feel dreamy. Because for all those reasons, in the land of pseudonyms Internet is, Adélie has always been mine. Because it's the first name that came into my mind, with no need to think about it further ?

Thanks to you, Olivier...

I would never have coped alone, had I not have the chance to share the life of a computer scientist who patiently guided me through the labyrinth of CSS and HTML. Thanks to him, I've been able to give my words and images a shape as close as possible as the one I had in mind.

About using the images of this site.

The texts and images of this site, photographs, illustrations, etc. , are all personal creations, except the ones surrounded by a thin dotted line, for which I indicate the author or a link everytime it is possible (if you recognise one of your images and don't wan't me to use it, please tell me so that I don't do to the others what I don't want the others to do to myself). If you want to use my images, please do, but read that creative commons licence first, it will indicate you in what (simple) conditions you have the right to do it. There there.

Oh, and just a last tiny little boring thing, a technical detail that completes the terms of use above : if you wish to put one of my images online, please always save it first on your disk before putting it on your own server / in your blog. Having a website generally means paying a rental to a provider, who will have you pay the space you use (images requires a lot) and the bandwith, important or not according to the number of visitors you have. If you don't save the picture but put its terreadelie url directly in your html code, it means you make me shelter it for you, and your visitors will pass through my site when opening the page, often without even knowing it. So be kind enough not to do that, thanks !
